About the Course:
3.5 CE Credits
The class is designed to: educate students on the range of affordable housing opportunities and clients seeking them; increase students' knowledge and understanding of how affordability impacts the housing market, their clients, their business, and their community; help students analyze affordable financing options through credible lenders, including local, state, federal, and non-profit assistance programs for buyers and renters; and teach students how to better leverage partnerships and resources to expand housing opportunities through workforce housing initiatives, green building concepts, and advocacy to benefit the student, their clients, and their communities.
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Describe your role in affordable housing.
- Describe and discuss affordable housing and housing opportunities.
- Describe how demographic changes impact affordable housing and housing opportunities.
- Describe special considerations for first-time homebuyers.
- Describe the benefits of working with housing counselors.
- Describe where to locate down payment and closing cost assistance.
- Describe qualifying guidelines for conventional and government loans.
- Describe how housing opportunities can be increased in your community.
- Identify opportunities for local advocacy.
- Locate resources online and in your local community to educate yourself and assist your client regarding affordable housing.

Tuition must be paid in full at the time of registration.
Refunds, minus a $25 cancellation fee will be made only when written notice is provided no less than five (5) days prior to course start date. Requests can be sent to dawn@poconorealtors.com.
Cancellations made less than five (5) days prior to course start date may receive partial credit toward a future class at the discretion of the Director. Requests should be sent to dawn@poconorealtors.com
No refunds will be issued after the start of the class. If a student is dismissed for failure to abide by any school policies, no refund will be given.
In case of a no show, the student forfeits their registration fee.
There will be a processing fee of $40.00 for returned checks.
The Minimum Number of Students needed for this class is _6_: If the minimum students are not met 5 days prior to class the class may be cancelled.
Should the school need to cancel a class, participants will be entitled to a full refund.
