About this Course:
This is a 3-day course Offered 9am to 5pm at PMAR on 3-11-25 & 12pm-5pm on 3-13-25 & 3-18-25 in the field. This course counts towards an elective for your broker license 1 broker credit. 15 hours of CE for renewal, this does not include the mandatory 2024-2026 PA Real Estate Commission requirement.
This 15-hour course is designed to provide Pennsylvania real estate agents/brokers with a comprehensive understanding of various architectural styles. Participants will gain valuable knowledge to enhance their ability to identify, describe, and market properties with distinctive architectural features. By understanding the history, characteristics, and significance of different architectural styles, agents/brokers can better communicate property value to clients and provide exceptional service.
Course Objectives:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify and Recognize
- Key architectural styles commonly found in Pennsylvania, including Colonial, Victorian, Craftsman, Modern, and others.
- Structural and design elements that define each architectural style.
- Understand Historical Context
- The evolution of architectural trends and how they align with historical periods.
- The influence of cultural, economic, and technological factors on architectural designs.
- Evaluate Property Features
- Distinguish between authentic features and modern reproductions or renovations.
- Assess the market appeal and value of architectural details.
- Communicate Effectively with Clients
- Use appropriate terminology to describe architectural styles and features.
- Educate buyers and sellers on the unique value of properties based on architectural significance.
- Apply Knowledge to Real Estate Practice
- Leverage architectural expertise in marketing, negotiations, and property valuation.
- Navigate MLS entries and descriptions with an emphasis on architectural accuracy.
Instructional Format:
- Interactive discussions on the significance of architectural elements.
- Engaging Hands-on activities, including identifying styles from local property tours on day 2 & 3.

Tuition must be paid in full at the time of registration.
Cancellations:
If cancelation is made less than five (5) days prior to course start date may receive partial credit toward a future class at the discretion of the Director. Requests should be sent to dawn@poconorealtors.com
If cancelations are made five days prior or more, a refund minus a $25 cancellation fee will be made only when written notice is provided no less than five (5) days prior to course start date. Requests can be sent to dawn@poconorealtors.com.
If a student is dismissed for failure to abide by any school policies, no refund will be given.
In case of a no show, the student forfeits their registration fee.
There will be a processing fee of $40.00 for returned checks.
Inclement weather Policy: We will reschedule the class later or offer a refund. Or we may offer the class virtually.
Should the school need to cancel a class, participants will be entitled to a full refund.
